Boat Charter Bookings

On Friday 1st September the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust are running Charter trips in their wheelchair friendly boat, The Mary Archard. The trip on the beautiful River Avon at Melksham takes about 30 minutes. The Mary Archard can take up to 8 passengers. However, if the passenger is in a wheelchair this will count as 2 passengers. Charters are run from the slipway in King George V Park, Lowbourne Road, Melksham SN12 7ED. Due to weight restrictions, the boat can only take two wheelchair passengers. Sorry, we cannot take motorised wheelchairs or buggies.

To book a Charter please complete and return the booking form. Once the booking form has been received, you will be sent an email giving you the Canal Trust’s bank details. When the Trust receives the payment, you will be sent a confirmation of your booking. You are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy in the Park.

There are no Charter booking on the Festival days (Saturday and Sunday) but you can pre-book your trips i.e. book Saturday for Sunday or morning for an afternoon trip

Boat Trip Prices

Boat trip run by the Wilks and Berks Canal Trust throughout the weekend. Please see boat trip schedule for times. Prices: £6 per adult; £3 per child (2 to 16 years of age); £15 family ticket ( 2 adults and 2 children). Children up to 2 years go free.
