Wiltshire Search and Rescue

Wiltshire Search and Rescue is a voluntary organisation that is deployed by the emergency services control rooms.

Our primary aim is to locate vulnerable and missing people, often in remote locations, administer any life-saving medical care and recover them to a place of safety. Our steep ground equipment enables us to conduct rescues on steeply sloping ground. We also have a fully equipped water and flood rescue team that are trained to national DEFRA standards.

We actively participate in the Local Resilience Forum's emergency planning and are regularly deployed for Major Incidents affecting our communities, including flooding and severe snow. This included the Salisbury Novichok Poisonings. During COVID we supported hospitals with critical taskings such as volunteer Porters and the Local authority with welfare checks on the most vulnerable members of the community.
